Allie Quigley sinks 3s like they’re easy.

She is a 3x WNBA All-Star,2x WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year, and a 3x winner of the three-point contest where she holds the record for making 20 out of 25 baskets. The best performance in the competition in both the WNBA and the NBA.

She is also the Chicago Sky’s leading point scorer, a record she broke against the Minnesota Lynx on July 11th. The Sky isn’t the only team in Chicago that Quigley holds points records. She is one of four players at DePaul University to score over 2,000 career points

Quigley’s WNBA career started in 2008 when she was drafted 22nd overall to the Seattle Storm. She was traded to Phoenix three days later and made her debut in May of that same year. She played in Phoenix for two years, before splitting the 2010 season between San Antonio (now Las Vegas) and Indiana. In 2011 she joined the team that drafted her, during their playoff run. After the playoffs though, she was cut from the team.

In 2012 Quigley played overseas in Hungary, the second country in her dual citizenship. She also represented them internationally that same year. She rejoined the W in 2013 in Chicago and has been there ever since.

She has found her groove in Chicago. That isn’t to say that she was a bad player or anything before joining the Sky, but Quigley seems the most comfortable with the ball, with her skills, and she shot more in recent years than in the early years of her career. She has really refined her craft, and it shows with the points she puts up.

In 2019, Quigley married teammate, Courtney Vandersloot. It’s an interesting relationship to have, being married to a teammate, but Vandersloot says “We make each other better. I’m hard on her, but that’s how it’s been since the beginning. I credit a lot of my individual success to her.”

That perfectly sums up the type of teammate that Quigley is. She is driven and ready to help push her teammates to success. Her success radiates off of her and through the team, and as the Sky gears up for playoffs, Quigley will look to sink more threes and keep her team in the game.
