There Are ‘No Limits’ For Mobley Despite Battling Illness
When it comes to limitations for Teena Mobley there are none. The Long Island native is always on the run, setting and achieving her goals while facing many challenges.
“I was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis when I was nine years old,” said Mobley. “It was a very difficult illness to deal with. Thankfully, playing sports has really helped my lungs and my heart, so I was able to manage the illness throughout my life,” she added.
Mobley was a track star at North Babylon High School in New York, excelling in the long jump and sprints. Her coach, Jim DiSalvo, was impressed by what she accomplished while battling cystic fibrosis.
“Teena’s an inspiration and she doesn’t really let anybody know that she has CF,” said the longtime track coach at North Babylon High School. “She was a tremendous athlete but never liked drawing attention to herself.”
Mobley earned a scholarship to Monroe College and then Long Island University where she was
nationally ranked in the long jump. Track and field not only gave her a platform to excel on but helped cultivate an attitude she still carries with her today.

When not working or exercising, Mobley produces fitness videos and speaks to young students about living with cystic fibrosis.
“I go by the motto, ‘No limits with Teena,'” she added. “I’m going to show the world that you can accomplish anything in your life if you put your mind to it and work hard.”
Teena Mobley is living her best life now and is a true inspiration to others.
