Ally Love: From NBA Team Host To Peloton Instuctor
No matter where Simone Manuel travels for swim meets, she knows that she is different. When Manuel is on the starting blocks and looks to the left and looks to the right, there is nobody who resembles her. Manuel is an elite African-American swimmer, which is rare in the sport.
If Ally Love was a high schooler, she would be dubbed the “overachiever.” Model, TEDx speaker, Adidas Global Ambassador, certified health coach, host of the Brooklyn Nets, Peloton superstar, and founder of fitness lifestyle brand, Love Squad, is just a dusting of the many masks that Love wears. “No free samples,” she told Forbes in February 2020. “I’m willing to work hard for everything,” and it shows.
At the age of nine, Love was hit by a car, leaving her hospitalized with doctors telling her she had little chance of walking again. This bout of adversity, while devastating, gave Love the opportunity to prove to herself how powerful a strong mindset and relentless work ethic could be–something she now aims to have everyday.
Although you may know her from a number of appearances in the mainstream media, she might be most well known for her stimulating Peloton sessions. In Love’s Peloton bio, she admits that her life goal is to encourage everyone to use the power of sweat and the act of physically working through something as a team to help people live to the fullest degree. She designs her classes with a purpose–to lift people up and remind us to own our lives. The greatest persuasion to buy into her words, however, is her admittance to a love for donuts and parties–something most of us can relate to. She reminds us that it is not all business all the time, but when it is, be the boss.
Her new podcast, The Basics of Bossing Up, delves into the nooks and crannies of how she controls her career and lifestyle. “Bossing up means setting the standard,” she told Forbes. “I always say there’s no need to follow the rules, when you’re setting the standards as a boss.” Her standards are rooted in the basics–a strategy that is widely taken for granted.

Basic is often associated with a casual eye roll in today’s society, but Love finds it to be her point of success. She hones in on a simple question–what are the basics of executing in a way that puts you on a path that you want to be on?
Love Squad, Love’s fitness lifestyle brand, emulates the way she bosses up by helping other women do the same. “We provide a platform where we’re helping them shape and form their personal narrative through conversations, such as how to negotiate for yourself, how to become financially savvy and budget, and how to build your business,” she told Forbes. “We talk a lot about whether you have a vertical career or versatile career. We discuss branding, your mission statement, elevator pitch, managing your time, discipline within eating, relationships and work.”
She brings the same charisma one can find within Love Squad to all her endeavors. With Peloton, Love recognizes that she is changing much more than an individual’s workout regime. “What I really do is change people’s minds and their hearts,” she said to Forbes, “and having a healthier body is a byproduct of this. I change people through conversation, and encouraging messages and rhetoric on the bike.”
Ally Love is a renaissance woman. She seemingly has tentacles for arms, reaching out to help people in what appears to be every corner of the world. Health, fitness, fashion, and a number of other categories fall into her expertise, and she is quite impressive to watch and learn from. Love emphasized to Forbes, “We all have the ability to create our own paths. This can be you, I can be you!”
